This is an accomplished diet for puppies that require additional calories for energy. Perfect for dogs on the go and for canines that live in extreme climates that have a need for high levels of nutrients.

Timberwolf Wild & Natural® Legends is an animal meat based formula that has over 10 lbs of Chicken and fish meal for every 20 lbs of dog food and includes 5 high quality animal proteins.

Fresh chicken, herring and salmon combined with spray dried chicken liver and spray dried chicken. Wild & Natural® is a special low ash, low fiber, high performance grain free diet and contains high levels of highly digestible ingredients and concentrated sources of nutrients essential for growth. Fresh chicken is derived from parts or whole carcasses of chicken, exclusive of feathers, heads, feet, entrails. The high levels of unique amino acids from chicken provide the building blocks necessary for a thick vibrant coat, healthy pink skin, a strong immune system and excellent muscle tone.

The body uses each type of amino acid for different purposes. Amino acids from food proteins are better digested than supplemental amino acids. Melanin, a protein that provides pigmentation, is built from amino acids consumed in the diet.

Herring is a nourishing source of protein providing natural sources of magnesium, iodine, selenium and essential fatty acids (EFA). EFAs are good skin and coat conditioners and herring is thought to be beneficial for arthritic pets too.

We add L-carnitine which is an important nutrient that acts as a transport for EFAs and assist in the cellular production of energy.

Fresh chicken fat provides many important functions necessary for the normal development and function of cells, nerves, muscles, and body tissues in your pets body. They are important components in the body’s production of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins work to reduce inflammation, as well as perform many other important functions in the body and is a good quality source of energy. Chicken fat is high in linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid essential.

Chicken liver is high in protein, fat and vitamin A and makes it a particularly good choice for young, growing dogs and underweight dogs. Vitamin A plays an important role in supporting eye health. Wild dogs and wolves consume small quantities of organ meat such as liver on a regular basis because they usually eat all or most of their prey. Sardine cold water fish oil is used for its high levels of linoleic and arachidonic acids (omega - 6), and linolenic and eicosapentaenoic acids (omega - 3). This oil is a excellent source of Niacin and Calcium, and provides Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Phosphorus and Selenium. Flaxseed a natural source of fibre contains alpha-linoleic acid, which provides benefits for a dog's immune system, has an anti-inflammatory effect therefore assists with arthritis or other joint troubles and the lignans in flaxseed contain antioxidants.

Melanin, a protein that provides pigmentation, is built from amino acids consumed in the diet.

We do not add vitamin K3 (menadione sodium bisulfate) in any of our formulas because of health risks to animals and rely instead on high levels of foods that are high in vitamin k1 such as alfalfa, organic kelp and liver.
